Toll Tax Free Vehicle: India’s road infrastructure is now becoming streamlined and organized. Traveling on the highway is getting easier. But for this we have to pay toll tax. Be it expressway or state and national highways, people have to pay tax everywhere. Now the process has become easier with the introduction of fast tags. But do you know that there are some vehicles in the country, which do not have to pay any kind of toll anywhere. For this, the Ministry of Transport has released a list. Including about 25 people.
These people do not have to pay toll tax
President of India
Vice President of India
Prime Minister of India
Governor of any State
Chief Justice of India
Lok Sabha Speaker
Cabinet Minister
Chief Minister of any state
Judge of the Supreme Court
Union Minister of State
LG of Union Territories
Chief of Staff of full general or equivalent rank
The Speaker of the Legislative Council or the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of a State
Chief Justice of the High Court
Judge of the High Court
MP
Toll tax is not payable on the vehicles of Army Commanders of the Thal Army and equivalents of other services, Chief Secretary to the State Government, Secretary to the Government of India, Secretary, Council of States, Lok Sabha Secretary.
They also get discounts
Along with this, central and state armed forces in uniform including paramilitary forces and police, executive magistrate, fire fighter department, corps corps also do not have to pay tax. Apart from this, dignitaries on political journeys, members of the Legislative Assembly of a State and members of the Legislative Council of any State within the concerned State may be exempted from toll tax if they show their valid identity card.
It is important to know here that toll tax can be used to build roads keeping in mind the safety of vehicles. This movement is under the control of the National Highway Authority of India. Government of India has introduced Fast Tag to collect toll which is a cashless toll travel payment process.
