Movie Review: Was “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani” successful in entertaining the audience?
Karan Johar is returning to the big screen after seven years as a director with the love story of Rocky and Rani. This comeback of Karan Johar has been successful to a large extent. The film is full of drama, comedy, romance and entertains people with this film, the director has talked a lot about the conservative thinking of the society.
What is the story of ‘Rocky and Rani’?
In the film Rocky and Rani’s Prem Kahani, you meet Rocky Randhawa, a Punjabi boy from Delhi whose life revolves around designer clothes, the gym and protein shakes, while on the other hand, Rani Chatterjee (Alia Bhatt), plays a smart, intelligent lady. While trying to complete the unfinished love story of their grandfather (Dharmendra) and grandmother (Shabana Azmi), Rocky and Rani fall in love with each other, who are completely different from each other. Acting and Music
Ranveer Singh’s last two films ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ and ‘Circus’ gave viewers a glimpse of his character Simba somewhere, but the ‘Gully Boy’ actor played the role of Rocky in Rocky and Rani’s love story. Ranveer also played the character of Bittu from Delhi in the film Band Baja Baaraat which released 13 years ago, but in this film Rocky is completely different from Bittu. In the story, his journey from reckless ‘Dilwale’ to sensible ‘Dilwale’ impresses the audience. Alia Bhatt is always in terrific form and it is hard to take your eyes off her in Rocky Rani.
Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi add strength to the film with their presence. Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi’s kiss and old songs filmed with them make the story more beautiful. Along with the songs of the film, the old songs used in the background or songs from the 70s featuring Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi also keep the story from getting boring.
