After the uproar, Upendra deleted this video from social media. He was talking about Uttam Prajakia Party in this video. During this he used abusive words for the Dalit community. Dalit support organizations protested after his statement.
Apologized after registering FIR
Realizing the seriousness of the situation after burning posters, growing protests and registering an FIR, Upendra addressed the controversy on his social media account and apologized for his words. In his statement he revealed that his comment was made in error and that he deleted the video soon after realizing the consequences. Admitting that feelings were hurt and making amends for the damage caused by his statement, he said, “I apologize for my statement.”
